Stacey Swanson, 49, of Park Hill, has died in a wreck five miles west of Tahlequah in Cherokee County this afternoon, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Swanson was driving a 1999 four-door eastbound on US 62 around noon when she ran off the right side of the road for an unknown reason, the patrol reported. She overcorrected to the left, entered a broad slide and was struck by a Chevrolet PK driven by Jake Green of Park Hill.
Swanson was trapped in the vehicle and had to be freed by Woodall and Tahlequah Fire Rescue. She was pronounced dead at Northeastern Health Systems Hospital in Tahlequah.
Green was treated and released for injuries he sustained in the crash.
Swanson and Green were both wearing seatbelts. Swanson’s vehicle was not equipped with airbags.
