A 16-year-old Stigler boy was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Haskell County over the weekend, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The teen, whose name has not been released, was a passenger in a 2002 Ford F-150 being driven by a 17-year-old from Stigler, whose name also wasn’t released.
The pickup was westbound on West Brooken Mountain Road just west of Enterprise when it ran off the north edge of the road and overcorrected, rolling three and a quarter times before coming to rest.
The driver, who was treated and released at Stigler’s hospital, was wearing a seatbelt. The passenger was not.
The highway patrol reports inattentive driving as the cause of the crash.
