Retired Muskogee District Court Judge Tom Alford, a longtime jurist in Muskogee, has died, according to friends and family.
No details have been released about his death yet, but his body was found this evening.
Alford, who retired in 2018, still served as a judge on occasion. He had been a judge for 33 years when he retired.
More info as it becomes available.
EDITOR’S NOTE: Alford used to live across the street from me and we were friends. As he heard me play guitar and sing from my third-floor bedroom with the windows open, he often asked if he could come over and play bass with me. I profoundly regret that I never took him up on it. I last saw him at a Saint Patrick’s Day party this year, and I will always fondly remember our interaction there.
