Johnny Blankenship, 54, of Park Hill died on Monday from injuries sustained in a motorcycle wreck on June 25, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Blankenship was driving a 1995 Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on Oklahoma Highway 80 when he failed to negotiate a turn and struck a guard rail. He was not wearing a helmet at the time and his driving ability was impaired by alcohol, according to the patrol.
Blankenship and his passenger, Marina Skaggs, 36, of Park Hill were both ejected from the motorcycle, which continued across both lanes of traffic. Skaggs was treated and released from Saint Francis of Muskogee. Blankenship was admitted with critical head injuries and died a week later.
