THINGS TO DO

Monday, November 29, 2021, 8:07 AM

After debuting with a sold out run in 2019, and having to postpone plans to perform in 2020, “Christmas In Killarney” is launching its national tour in the 2021 holiday season and will play here tomorrow night, according to Muskogee Civic Center manager John Cruz.

Created by the 2009 World Champion of Irish Dance Scott Doherty and worldwide touring Irish musician Chris Smith, “Christmas In Killarney” combines the excitement of Irish dance with the harmonies of traditional Christmas classics including “Sleigh Ride,” “O Holy Night,” “Holly and Ivy,” and “Carol of the Bells” and others.

“Christmas in Killarney” focuses on traditional Christmas music and Irish dance, with singers, musical performers and Irish dancers. Set in Killarney, Ireland in the late 1920s, the stage production shows what it means to celebrate Christmas the Irish way. Watch Irish dancers leap through the air and tap their feet while you enjoy the music and harmonies of the season.

Tickets are still available online at www.muskogeeciviccenter.com or www.ticketstorm.com. Also 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Muskogee Civic Center Box Office.

“This is the biggest musical to perform at the Muskogee Civic Center stage,” Cruz said. “It is a good musical to open up our Christmas season.”
