Chasity Brewer of Muskogee was arrested this week after she allegedly set her own vehicle on fire around 6th and Talladega and told police it had been stolen.

Brewer told police she had stopped for a broken-down vehicle at C and Fredonia streets around 10 p.m. when two men approached her vehicle and kidnapped her.

She told police she was able to escape and was picked up by her husband around 11th and Talladega around 10:30 p.m. Police found her vehicle around 6th and Talladega, completely engulfed in flames.

“During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Chasity was never kidnapped and that she set her own vehicle on fire,” Muskogee Police Officer Lynn Hamlin said.

Brewer was arrested on complaints of arson, false claim for insurance and false reporting of a crime.
