The Muskogee Police Department has announced a new K9 officer on the street, after the unexpected death of K9 Indie.
K9 Oli is a 3 year old Belgian Malinois that was born in Poland and then imported through Holland, and purchased by the Police Department from Vohne Liche Kennels. Oli is replacing Indie as Lieutenant Peters’ K9 partner after Indie’s death while at work. Oli has hit the ground running and on his third day of work located two suspects who had run from officers in opposite directions. He found one attempting to hide under a shed, and the other was hiding in the woods. Oli has also been CLEET certified for narcotics locating.
Lt. Peters has also become the department’s first dual purpose trainer from Vohne Liche Kennels. He completed nine weeks of training at Vohne Liche to receive the certification, all while working and training Oli.
