The city of Muskogee has announced several postponements, suspensions and cancellations of events due to the threat of the COVID-19 virus, which has now had 10 confirmed cases, with 29 still awaiting test results.

The closings:

  • Muskogee Senior Center
  • Muskogee Swim and Fitness Center will close all programs with 10 or more attendees for high-risk population (seniors, compromised immune systems, the very young or pregnant). The center itself will remain open. Call 918-684-6304 for information.
  • Muskogee Run canceled.
  • Azalea Festival Parade canceled
  • Flower Power Bike Ride canceled.
  • Azalea Banner Auction postponed.

“We are following CDC protocols and want to make sure we’re doing everything to the best of our ability ... to contain the spread of the virus,” City Manager Mike Miller said. “These actions can ultimately save a lot of suffering and a lot of lives, potentially.”
