Nalani Ching

Nalani Ching, an assistant district attorney for Muskogee County, has been named outstanding prosecutor of the year for the state of Oklahoma, according to District Attorney Orvil Loge.

Ching’s tenacious prosecution has won the respect of law enforcement officers and defense attorneys alike, Loge said.

“Law enforcement officers seek her guidance for investigations, search warrants and evidence collections,” he said. “Her ability to pursue and hold accountable high-priority violent criminals is remarkable.”

A 10-year prosecutor in Tulsa County, Ching has worked in Muskogee County for four years, winning a laundry list of high-profile cases:

  • 20-year sentence for child abuse
  • 20 years for three rape cases
  • five to life for child sex abuse
  • life for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon
  • 10 years for youth offender rape
  • 33 years for child sexual exploitation
  • life plus 50 years for three counts of sexual abuse
  • 35 in and 10 out for child sexual abuse
  • 15 in and 10 out for robbery
  • 30 years and 20 years for two defendants in child exploitation
  • 38 years for second-degree murder

“Our police chief said, ‘I would not want to be on the other side of her,'” Loge said. “I am proud she helps protect the citizens of Muskogee County.”

“I work with some of the best attorneys in Oklahoma,” Ching said. “Orvil Loge and Tim King are both very supportive and have made possible my accomplishments. I’m honored to work for Orvil and am humbled by his recognition of my efforts. I have the best job in the world and aside for a beach in Hawaii, I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else.”
