Terry McCrary
A Muskogee man stole a police car around 10:30 p.m. last night, according to Muskogee police.

The man then drove the car through an iron fence at 26th and Broadway.

The suspect, Terry McCrary, 44, of Muskogee was accused of assaulting two people before he stole the car. He allegedly jumped out of the car before it hit the fence. Police say he also tried to assault an officer.

UPDATE: Police say they received a call of a fight in progress at that location. Officers arrived on scene and said they found McCrary standing in the street yelling.

Once officers activated the lights on their car, they say McCrary tried to enter the passenger door of a police car, then, when backup officers arrived and got out of their car, he ran to the driver’s side and got into the car and drove away.

He drove the car about a block, they say, before jumping out and running. He was apprehended after a brief struggle with police. He was then arrested and treated by EMS at the scene. Police suspect he may have been under the influence of PCP.
