Logan Smith, 31, of Muskogee is charged in Muskogee County District Court with two felonies and a misdemeanor after an incident that allegedly happened on Tuesday of this week.
According to documents filed with the case, Smith is accused of strangling his girlfriend, Rosemary McVicker by putting his forearm across her neck and shutting off her air supply. During that time, the documents allege, he held a knife to her face, cutting it. The misdemeanor charge, threatening to perform an act of violence, stemmed from the allegation that while he was doing the above acts, he said “I should just do it,” which the victim told police she understood to be a threat to kill her.
The two felonies are domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and domestic assault and battery by strangulation.
Smith is being held in the Muskogee County Jail on a $5,000 bond and faces a sounding docket on June 24.
