A man and woman were hurt in a single-car wreck three miles east of Fort Gibson over the weekend, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Donald Broderick, 52, of Park Hill was driving a 2007 Chevrolet four-door eastbound on US 62 and fell asleep, the patrol reported.
He departed the roadway to the left, drove through a creek and slammed into the eastern bank, where the car came to rest. Broderick was treated and released from the hospital.
His passenger, 46-year-old Cynthia Sutton of Cookson, was admitted into Eastar Hospital in Muskogee with head, external and internal trunk and leg injuries.
Neither driver was wearing a seatbelt.
