The state election board has ordered that county election boards accept resolutions adopted by governing bodies in their areas to move the April 7 elections to other dates.
Muskogee County Election Board Secretary Kelly Beach, however, said as of now, the election here is still on.
“Until I hear from the entities, I am preparing to have an election,” he said. “We are working with our polling facilities to help us create a safe atmosphere for voting.”
Precinct officials will allow no more than 10 people inside the polling places — including them. Each polling place will be supplied with sanitation products as well.
“However, I encourage voters to apply to receive absentee ballots,” he said. “The deadline to apply is April 1 at 5 p.m.”
To apply, go to www.elections.ok.gov/ovp or download and print an application and mail it to our office at PO Box 216, Muskogee, OK 74402.
