Bill Harry Brashears, 53, of Muskogee was injured just north of Porter on the Muskogee Turnpike after he saw a deer in the road.
Brashears was eastbound on the turnpike when he saw the animal in the road and slowed to try to avoid it. But he was unable to avoid it, so he departed the roadway to the right and was injured. He was flown by helicopter to Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, where he was admitted in fair condition with trunk and internal and arm injuries.
He was wearing a helmet at the time.
