Virginia L. Cothran, 86, of Oktaha, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021. She was born April 16, 1935 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Bill and Nora (Shearrer) Miller. She attended public schools and graduated from Muskogee Central High School in 1953.
Virginia married the love of her life, Lonnie Cothran in July 1954 in Muskogee. They shared many years of life, marriage, and memories together.
She worked as a secretary for Southwestern Bell Telephone and retired in 1987 after many years of service.
She was a member of Oktaha United Methodist Church where she faithfully served and attended until her health began to fail.
Virginia was an avid reader and enjoyed working crossword puzzles. She read her Bible everyday and lived her life to the fullest. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family and made it her mission to spoil her granddaughter, Jenna, who she loved very much.
She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill Miller and Nora Fleenor; and her husband, Lonnie Cothran.
Virginia is survived by her daughter, Debra Bowen and husband Rocky; grandson, Dustin Bowen and wife Megan, granddaughter, Jenna Bowen; great-granddaughter, Reece Ryann Bowen, all of Oktaha; along with other family members and friends.
Virginia’s life will be celebrated at 10AM, Friday, September 24, 2021 at Middleton Chapel Cemetery with Mr. Jimmy Roper officiating.
