Thomas Henry Godfrey, 79

Born Tuesday, April 29, 1941

Died Monday, August 31, 2020

Thomas Henry Godfrey, age 79, passed away on August 31, 2020 at his home in Warner, Oklahoma surrounded by his family. Thomas (Tommy or Tom to most of his friends and family) was born on April 29, 1941 in Warner Oklahoma to Drewey and Eva (Speers) Godfrey.
Tommy attended Warner Elementary and High School and graduated with the class of 1959.
On October 28, 1961, Tommy married JoAnn Huggins and the couple went on to raise their children and stay lifelong residents in Warner. Tommy began working in 1960 at Container Corporation in Muskogee and worked there for 43 years and 10 months retiring 17 years ago. Tom and JoAnn spent their retirement years traveling and enjoying all their hard work.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Drewey Godfrey and Eva (Speers) Godfrey, his brother Leamon Godfrey and sister Ruby Godfrey and grandson, Noah Clemons.
Tommy is survived by his wife JoAnn Godfrey of the home, a daughter Connie Stovall and husband David Stovall of Warner and a daughter Rhonda Clemons from Tahlequah, OK. He is also survived by grandchildren Emily England and Mason Clemons of Tahlequah and Tyler Clemons of Warner. Tommy’s great grandchildren are Michael, Kennedy and Mckinley Whitmire and Madison Clemons all of Tahlequah, OK.
Tommy was a life-long member of Warner First Baptist Church will always be remembered as a quiet, honest, hard-working family man. He always took great pride in his work ethic, his farm, and especially in his family. Tommy loved to hunt and fish and enjoy having Friday night fish fry’s and strawberry shortcake for dessert followed by a badminton tournament or card game afterwards enjoying his family.

A celebration of Tommy’s life will be 3PM, Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Warner First Baptist Church with Rev. Cardell Coppin, John Synar and Rhonda Clemons officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
