Terry Earl Burnett, 69, of Fort Gibson, was born to Earl and Betty (Mahoney) Burnett on March 27, 1953, in St. Joe, Michigan and peacefully passed away, Saturday, July 30, 2022, at his home with his family by his side. Terry attended Joliet High School in Joliet, IL. Living in Fort Gibson for most of his life, Terry owned several businesses. He was the Owner and Operator of United Auto Sales on West Shawnee in Muskogee for 30 years. He also owned two different marinas, Eufaula Cove Marina on Eufaula Lake for 15 years and Paradise Cove on Fort Gibson Lake for 20 years. He also had his hand in Commercial Real Estate. Terry hunted deer, elk and bear. He also liked fishing. He would spend hours researching civil war battlefields so he could take his metal detector and find all kinds of treasures lost form slugs to uniform buttons. Carol would go with Terry looking for arrowheads and they would walk for miles. Terry had a passion for fast cars, like his 2013 GT 350 Ford Mustang, and fast boats. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him. Terry is survived by his wife, Carol, of the home; sons, Matthew Burnett, and wife, Nikki, of Fort Gibson, Mark Burnett, and wife, Marne, of Boynton Beach, FL, Jonathan Burnett of Fort Gibson; grandchildren, Melinda Elkins of Muskogee, Levi Lively of Muskogee, Luke Pennington of Tulsa, OK, Hailey Harris of Broken Arrow, OK, Hanna Burnett of Broken Arrow, Ryleigh Burnett of Fort Gibson; 13 Great Grandchildren; mother, Betty Robertson of Hulbert, OK; brothers, Michael Davis, of Fort Gibson, Timothy Davis of Fort Gibson, Brian Burnett of MI, David Burnett of MI; sisters, Annette Davis of Hulbert, OK, and Rainy Garner of Hulbert, OK. He is preceded in death by his father, Earl Burnett of Benton Harbor, MI Services will be held 10AM Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Gibson, with Joey Ferland officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Citizens Cemetery in Fort Gibson with Alexander, Levi, Luke, Aiden, Brayden, and Cooper serving as Casket Bearers.
