Suzanne M. “Shelly” Crawford, 56

Born Monday, February 18, 1963

Died Wednesday, July 3, 2019

Born February 18, 1963, to Grover Lee and Geraldine Crawford, Suzanne Michelle Crawford entered the Kingdom of Heaven July 3, 2019 after much suffering from debilitating diabetes. The cruel disease was a constant test of her faith but faith is a gift the Lord gave to Shelly in great abundance. Through her suffering, she never wavered in her faith. Shelly was always cheerful and interested in other people. She had run a successful cleaning business in Muskogee but was ready to move on to other endeavors. She went to college but discovered real estate sales and knew this was her calling. She was a successful realtor but that career was cut short by her health. She loved teaching Sunday School and working with young people.
Shelly was defined by the love she generated and her irrepressible personality. She derived much pride in her Cherokee heritage.
Indeed we can say with the poet, “death be not proud, oh grave where is thy sting, oh death where is thy victory?”
She was preceded in dear by Grover Lee and Geraldine Crawford and by her brother Ronald Dean Crawford.
She is survived by her sister Lynda Scott and her husband Larry of Edmond, Oklahoma and her brother David Crawford and his wife Jill of Tulsa, Oklahoma and many nephews, nieces, cousins and beloved friends.
A family visitation will be 2pm-4pm, Sunday, July 7, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
A celebration of Shelly’s life will be 1:30PM, Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Timothy Baptist Church with Pastor Kelly Payne officiating. A private family interment will follow with Brent Scott, Benjamin Crawford, Kyle Crawford, Lynn Jamison, Jerry Noblin, Ben Jackson and Andy Keim serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Leatherman, Larry Cavin and Kenneth Neel.
Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home, 1830 N. York Street, Muskogee, OK. Condolences may be made to the family online at
