Sheila Faye Burgess, 60

Died Tuesday, November 5, 2019

Sheila Faye Burgess, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, teacher, and friend, passed from this life to her heavenly home on November 5, 2019 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Sheila was born September 23, 1959 to Guinn and Faye Brock in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She graduated from Oktaha High School; Connors State College; and Northeastern State University and taught elementary education in Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma for over 20 years.
Sheila married her childhood sweetheart and the love of her life, Bob Burgess, on September 1, 1979.
Sheila was a beautiful, kind, sweet, selfless, and generous lady who loved and enjoyed her family and friends. She was always joyful, adventurous, and fun-loving. Many of her talents included playing sports in high school; singing in church, at community events, and in talent shows; and teaching her students. Her favorite hobbies were shopping and giving gifts to everyone. She especially delighted in buying things for her grandsons, Carson and Cameron. She also loved to cook delicious meals and made sure everyone was well fed and happy.
Sheila was a strong Christian and attended Fort Gibson Assembly of God Church. In previous years, she helped her husband, Bob, pastor churches in Oklahoma and Arkansas. She had a special gift of encouraging others and helping anyone in need.
Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Guinn and Faye Brock; father and mother-in-law, Eugene and Barbara Burgess; paternal grandparents, John and Ada Brock; maternal grandparents, Maston and Era Hill; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Survivors include her husband, Bob, of the home in Ft. Gibson, OK; son, William and grandsons, Carson and Cameron of OKC, OK; sisters, Vickie Legg and husband Kenneth of Muskogee, OK, Renee Trapp of Tahlequah, OK; brothers, Rick Brock, and John Brock and wife Rebecca, all of Muskogee, OK; brother-in-law, Tom Burgess and wife Kim of Carlton, GA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who will miss her dearly and cherish her memory.
Funeral services celebrating Sheila’s life will be 10AM, Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lonnie Orman officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Ross, Austin Brock, Jason Legg, Thomas Trapp, Justin Legg, Seth Brock, Benjamin Burgess, Cody Burgess, and Beau Burgess.
