Roy Dale Jenkins, 80

Born Monday, December 11, 1939

Died Monday, June 29, 2020

Roy Dale Jenkins, 80, entered Heaven’s gates Monday, June 29th, 2020. He was born December 11, 1939 the son of Albert and Eunice (Rigney) Jenkins in Checotah, Oklahoma.
Roy lived most of his life in Muskogee, marrying the love of his life, Nora Margaret (Cox) on November 15, 1963. They were married for 56 years before she preceded him in death in 2019. Roy was a longtime faithful member of Eastern Heights Baptist church, leading his Sunday school class in song, being a part of the financial committee and helping out at the slushee stand back in the day in vacation bible school.
Roy started out in an accounting office while earning his CPA certification in August of 1973. Working long and hard days and nights, he eventually opened up his own successful practice, Roy D. Jenkins and Associates, and served Muskogee and the surrounding counties. He enjoyed his work and helped others with their taxes until he retired in 2015.
Roy is survived by his daughter, Lisa Harris and her husband Scotte of Kemah, TX; his son, Dale Jenkins and his wife Cindy of Tahlequah, OK; his brother, James Jenkins and wife Pat of Ardmore, OK; and his sister, Carolyn Lane and husband Cecil of Chouteau, OK; his sister-in-law, Frances Darrow and husband Jack of Topeka, KS; his brother-in-law, Arthur Cox of Talihina, OK; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and a host of friends.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Eunice Jenkins; his father and mother-in-law, Jeff and Lula Belle Cox; and his wife, Nora Jenkins.
A celebration of Roy’s life will be 11AM, Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Eastern Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Darren Wallace and Bro Bobby Smith officiating.
