Ronald Scott Slape, 57, of Muskogee, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019. He was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on September 23, 1961 to Ronald Slape and Peggy Rose Slape. Scott attended and graduated from Braggs Public School, with a perfect attendance all 12 years. He continued his education at Bacone College where he played basketball.
Scott married the love of his life, Brenda Marie Slape (Carter) on February 11, 1985 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. They spent more than 34 memorable years together. He attended New Hope Assembly of God, where he was baptized on October 1, 2017. Scott enjoyed raising Slape show goats and watching good basketball games. But there is nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with his grandchildren and family and loving his wife.
Scott is preceded in death by his father and mother, Ronald Slape and Peggy Slape, and his brother, J.B. Slape.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Marie Slape of Muskogee, OK; daughters, Tiffany Ellison and husband Derek of Oktaha, OK and Trenda Mullen and husband Justin of Muskogee, OK; stepmother, Betty Slape; niece, Natosha Hall of the home; grandchildren, Madison Mullen of Lebanon, TN, Ty Mullen of Muskogee, OK, Trinity Mullen of Muskogee, OK, Lia Ellison of Oktaha, OK, Abree Ellison of Oktaha, OK, and Waylon Mullen of Muskogee, OK; sister, Teri Peters of Oktaha, OK; and brother, Chad Threet of Austin, TX, along with many other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30PM, Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
A celebration of Scott’s life will be 1:00pm, Thursday, May 16, 2019 at New Hope Assembly of God in Muskogee, Oklahoma with Pastor John Overton officiating and Bro. Bobby Burris assisting. Interment will follow at South Bethel Cemetery in Braggs, Oklahoma with Gary Isbell, Wesley Mackey, David Mackey, Mike Slape, Justin Mullen, Derek Ellison, Thad Hutchens, and Raymond Boydston serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Schoenfelder, Randy Eller, Brian Craig, Keith Weant, Terry Weant, Mark Mullen, Paul Early, Harold (Racer) Hutchens, Bryan Young, and Tex Ferguson.
The family would like to extend a very special “Thank you” to Nurse Ciara Cowan at St. Johns, Dr. Vasireddy and his staff at Landmark Cancer Center, Muskogee St. Francis ER and ICU staff, Nurse Terri Mussett, Joyce, and Grace with Complete Hospice, Marion Medical staff of Tulsa, and Doyle Maggert.
