Richard W. Miller, 71

Born Thursday, December 22, 1949

Died Tuesday, April 27, 2021

Rick Miller was born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania on December 22, 1949. His mother, Pheirthine met Richard Miller, Sr. and moved to Muskogee in 1953. Later Rick met the love of his life, Brenda Stems, and married in 1991. They were inseparable for a wonderful 30 years. They both constantly worked but made time to enjoy and love their family and friends.
Rick Miller, husband, father, handyman, joker, and animal lover passed from this life Tuesday, April 27, 2021. He had such a big personality; Rick Miller was one of a kind. The man always made an impression on everyone and never met a stranger. He was the type of person that would give you anything he had. Rick was a man of his word and always helped the underdog, down on your luck, guy.
He could build or fix anything at a moment’s notice. A simple piece of wood could be transformed into a work of art in his hands. When it came to building and creating things with his hands and tools, he was a visionary. Rick was hard working and taught his family and friends how to repair things. He did not get in a hurry, ever, so he had extraordinary patience. He was a jack-of-all-trades. Rick loved to laugh and joke. One of his favorite things was teasing people and giving them a nickname. We loved the funny things he said everywhere he went. He loved animals and had may different critters as pets over the years. Rick took fashion cues from no one. His signature everyday look was his white tennis shoes, blue jeans, and the least expensive pocket shirt that he could find. We love you old man.
A special thank you goes to Paul and Keana Ayers.
Do not cry because it is over; smile because it happened.
Brenda Miller, “He is my best friend, my love, my rock, my life.”

He is also survived by his former wife, Vicky Barnett and their children, Wane Miller, Melisa (Mike) Robinson, and Brett (Stacy) Miller. His sisters, Wanda Ayres and Janice (Kenneth) Ayers-Burnes. Rick Miller also has many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
