R. Steve Walden, 61

Died Sunday, September 15, 2019

Roger “Steve” Walden, 61, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, September 15, 2019. He was born October 12, 1957 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Billy J. and Ruby E. (Acuff) Walden. Steve attended public schools from which he graduated.
He met and later married Tami Darlene Fields on June 9, 1976 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. They shared more than 43 years of life, marriage, and memories together.
Steve worked for the Muskogee Fire Department and retired in 2000 after many years of service. He then became the owner of B & R Electric where he worked as an electrician.
Steve enjoyed going to flea markets and pawn shops, hunting, fishing, repairing boat motors and working on John Deere tractors.
He will always be remembered as a wonderful son, husband, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Walden.
Steve is survived by his mother, Ruby of Muskogee; wife, Tami, of the home; children, Rosetta Walden Lee and husband David of Las Vegas, NV, Chris Walden and wife Kasey of Muskogee, and Jesse Walden and wife Stephanie of Richland, NC; grandchildren, Rachel Lee, Maddie Lee, Emma Lee, Blade Walden, Cheyenne Walden, and Ruger Walden; sister, Brenda Redfearn of Muskogee; brothers-in-law, Teddy Fields, Terry Fields, Frankie Fields and wife Cindy; sisters-in-law, Rosette Tice, Marcella McBride, Becky Dean, and Misty Hudson; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues.
Funeral services celebrating Steve’s life will be 10AM, Friday, September 20, 2019 at Life Point Church. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery with the Muskogee Fire Department Honor Guard serving as pallbearers.
