Patricia Pate, 94

Born Sunday, May 23, 1926

Died Friday, February 5, 2021

Patricia Pate, 94, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021. She was born on May 23, 1926 in Barry County, Missouri to Dallas and Dosha (Pyatt) Young before being adopted by Lawrence and Alma (Pyatt) Young. Pat grew up in Enid, Oklahoma and moved to New York City to be a runway model after high school.
She moved back to Oklahoma, married Jim Pate, Sr. and started her family.
Pat devoted her life to caring for her children and even their friends, always making sure they had a warm place to stay and a good meal.

Pat worked at Kreaker’s Dress Shop then Patricia’s followed by Elegant Touch and Coburn’s. Going to market and helping the ladies of the community find comfort in their style was her expertise. You’d rarely see her dressed in anything but pencil skirts and stiletto heels. Later she enjoyed working at Ultra Tan and HealthCare Solutions Group. Keeping the office at HealthCare in stitches with her stories, comments and smirks. In later days, she found enjoyment in flowers, whether picking them out and planting them or receiving a bouquet, she loved her flowers. Pat loved her great grandchildren always welcoming them with “hi baby.”

Pat is survived by her children, Jim Pate, Jr. (Sheri) of Montgomery, TX, Jan Morrison (Jerry Wayne) of Muskogee and Jerry Pate of Muskogee; grandchildren, Karra Wardour, Nick Pate (Kristin), Alex Pate, Jesse Morrison (Kati), James Morrison and JW Morrison, Jr. (Trudi); and great-grandchildren, Caitlin Wardour, Mia Pate, Micah Pate, Maddox Pate, Anna Morrison, Jay Morrison, Kynlee Morrison and Jemma Morrison.

A special thanks to her nurse and family friend, Maye Mullins, for all the love and care she showed Pat during the last three years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat’s honor to Hometown Hospice.

A celebration of Pat’s life will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home with Pastor Lonnie Orman officiating.
