Ollie Ray Capps, 94

Born Thursday, June 18, 1925

Died Wednesday, October 9, 2019

Ollie Ray Capps, a lifetime resident of Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at the age of 94. He was born June 18, 1925 in Ft Gibson, Oklahoma to Levi and Seletha (Sells) Capps.
He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during WWII and received an honorable discharge.
Ollie married the love of his life, Cora Lee Banks on August 6, 1947 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. They shared more than 71 years of life, marriage, and memories together when Cora passed on January 1, 2019.
He worked as a dairy farmer from 1961 to 1972. He then owned and operated the Okie Dokie Drive-In in Muskogee. He retired in 1987 from P&H Plumbing.
Ollie faithfully attended Central Assembly of God Church (now known as LifePoint) and served as a Deacon for many years.
He will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Seletha Capps; wife, Cora Capps; siblings, Arvie Lee Capps, Leon Capps, and Geraldine Shackelford; daughters-in-law, Carolyn (Beaty) Capps and Kathy Marie (Miller) Capps; and grandson, Mark Wayne Capps.
Ollie is survived by his children, Danny Ray Capps, Buddy Capps, Michael L. Capps, Phyllis J. (Capps) Alvarez and husband Tony, all of Muskogee, and Cathy S. (Capps) Cope of Bixby; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles Capps, Chester Capps, Jerry Capps, and Larry Capps; and sister, Alma Capps; along with other family members and friends who will greatly miss him.
Ollie’s life will be celebrated at 9AM, Monday, October 14, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Guy Parrish, Rev. Clyde Powell, and Rev. Tony Alvarez officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with military honors being presented. Pallbearers will be Michael Shawn Capps, Brent Keys, Michael Edward Capps, Nick Harper, Trenton White, Camden Cargill, and John Fox. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Wayne Capps, Logan Thomas Eskue, Matthew Herriman, Dallus Tyler Capps, Scott White, and Brian White.
