Died Sunday, July 5, 2020

Nona “Louise” Chastain, 77, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020. She was born on August 12, 1942 in Porum, Oklahoma to Bervie and Eulene (Mullens) Carr. She was a graduate from Warner High School and obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in teaching from Northeastern State University in 1962.
Louise married the love of her life, Jerry Don Chastain, on October 27, 1966 in Oklahoma City. They were blessed with over 53 years of life and many memories together.
Louise worked at Checotah High School from 1965-1967. She also worked at Muskogee DHS for 5 years as a social worker. She taught business and typing at Hilldale High School until her retirement in 1998. Louise was raised in the Assembly of God Church and her faith was very dear to her. She loved to crochet and needlepoint. Louise loved her family very much and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Bervie and Eulene Carr; and her brother-in-law, Ray Chastain.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Chastain; daughter, Debi Rackley; son, Greg Chastain and wife Luci; grandchildren, Nick and Ali Rackley, Drew Rackley, Annabella Chastain, and Liam Chastain; sister-in-law, Helen Chastain; nephews, Jason Chastain, Kelly Chastain and Damon Chastain; niece, Kim Riggs; and other family members and friends.
A celebration of Louise’s life will be 11AM, Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Floyd Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
