Michael Franklin Plant, 73 of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on January 5, 2021. He was born on May 11, 1947 to David and Delphina (Montgomery) Plant in Springfield, Massachusetts. He attended Springfield High School. After school Michael played for Tri County Massachusetts Minor League Baseball Team.
He married the love of his life, Karen Deon Epps, on July 5, 1974 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. They shared many years of life, marriage and love.
Michael worked as a power plant operator at Fort James until his retirement in 1998. He enjoyed playing golf. Michael loved his family very much and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Michael was preceded in death by his loving wife, Karen Plant; his parents, David and Delphina Plant; his brothers, David Plant and Jim Bucher; his sisters, Sharon Dellagiustina and Ellen Curcio; his brothers-in-law, Lee Epps and Dee Epps.
He is survived by his son, Michael Plant and wife Stephanie of Muskogee, OK; his daughters, Starla Barton of Forney, TX and Shari Paul of Muskogee, OK; his grandchildren, Haley Plant of Oklahoma City, OK, Tatum Barton of Muskogee, OK, Kendall Barton of Muskogee, OK, Jace Paul of Muskogee, OK, Tyler Plant of Muskogee, OK, Michaela Plant of Orlando, FL, Ashley Plant of Muskogee, OK, McKensie Plant of Porum Landing, OK, Logan Plant of Muskogee, OK, Addyson Bean of Muskogee, OK, Aubrey Shackelford of Muskogee, OK, and Jayce Moore of Oklahoma City, OK; his great-grandchildren, Mackson Marrel of Porum Landing, OK, and Everleigh Hensley of Muskogee, OK; his brother, John Plant of Springfield, MA; sister-in-law, Joyce Epperson and husband Carl of Muskogee, OK; life long friends, Roger Durand and Gary Cutler; and several nieces, nephews other family members and friends.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be 10AM, Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Sam Dunn officiating. Interment at Greenhill Cemetery will follow with Nick Thompson, Josh Thompson, Gary Epperson, Dustin Frazier, Don Gullet and Bronson Bebee serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Plant, Jace Paul, Logan Plant and Mackson Marrel.
