Maxine Tate, 53

Born Tuesday, December 20, 1966

Died Tuesday, May 26, 2020

Maxine Flowers Tate, age 53, passed away peacefully in her sleep May 26, 2020. She was born in El Paso, TX on December 20, 1966 to Corrine and Louis Flowers. She married the love of her life, Kevin Tate on November 11th of 2000.

Maxine was one of the brightest spirits you’d ever have the pleasure of meeting. She was the epitome of “good people” and always wore her heart on her sleeve. She would feed anybody if they were hungry or help anyone with anything they ever needed. Maxine was never afraid to fight for what is right. Her head strong attitude earned her accolades such as “Mad Max!” from her closest friends. She was better known as “Grandma CoCo” to her beloved grandchildren and “Moma Maxine” to all her other children throughout her walk of life.

Maxine worked as a Treasurer for the Okmulgee County district court house for 14 years before retiring on May 5, 2019. Her work was perfect for her as a people person. She was able to touch many souls and form so many beautiful relationships. With so many folks.

Those preceding her in death: parents Corrine Edwards Flowers and Louis Flowers, siblings, Sarah Flowers, Ronnie Flowers.

Maxine Tate is survived by her husband of 20 years, Kevin Tate; children Anthony Flowers, Tristyn Flowers, Stantia Flowers, Kevin Tate Jr., Wesley Tate; siblings Donna Flowers Chairs and Carolyn Flowers; nieces and nephews Shonda Flowers, Delhetric Flowers, Justyn Flowers, Michael Flowers, Vanessa Flowers, Dakota Flowers; grandchildren Reign Flowers, Sheigh Flowers, Ein Flowers, Javon Flowers, Danni Flowers, Demetrious Flowers, Kyrah Flowers, Kevaria Tate, Anthony Tate, Nala Tate, Khalil Tate,and Keyana Tate. a host of relative and friends.

A Home Going Service is scheduled Saturday, June 6, 2020, 2:00 p.m., Conversion Ministries Church, 1330 Martin Luther King Dr., Okmulgee, OK, Pastor Gregory Richardson eulogist.

Visitation, Friday, June 5, 2020, 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Note: Due to COVID 19 there is a 50 person limit and her immediate family exceeds that number. We will be practicing social distancing. Masks are mandatory and temperatures will be checked at the door.

The family is asking for limited outside participation in the funeral. Adults only in attendance.
