Santa's Reindeer Visit

Mary Pauline Frost, 98

Born Friday, January 16, 1920

Died Sunday, November 25, 2018

Mary Pauline (Lawson) Frost, 98, of Muskogee was born January 16, 1920 in Vivian, OK to Charlie and Fida (Pollard) Lawson and passed away Sunday, November 25, 2018 in Tulsa with her family by her side.
Pauline was a homemaker that loved her family and made it her life’s mission to care for them. She was a Godly woman that loved her church. She went as often as she could but she had to depend on others for a ride. She only drove a little while she was young. Her husband was teaching her to drive but after she ran down several fence posts, she said, never again.
She enjoyed shopping, but hardly ever bought anything, she would always say, “I don’t have the money right now.” She really did, but after living during the depression, she learned to be thrifty and save money.
Pauline loved flowers and gardening. Her front porch was adorned with many different flowers. During the summer she would have tomatoes growing there also. She enjoyed making quilts and playing with her grandchildren.
She always said that she never got to go anywhere but somehow managed to visit 18 states. We asked her to go to Alaska to visit her granddaughter and family, but she refused to fly so that wasn’t going to happen. Pauline would say, “if God wanted me to fly, he would have given me wings.” When she had the stroke on Friday, they flew her to the hospital in Tulsa. We don’t know if she was conscious or not. We do know now that God has given her wings to fly to Heaven. She will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Vester Frost; sons, Seth Robert and Jack Frost; sisters, Charlsie Yandell, Ermalee Craig and Jean Spradlin; and her brother Preston Lawson.
Pauline is survived by her children; Jerry Lawson and wife Tammy, Ann Thornton and her husband Wayne Lusk, Margaret Hazelwood, Janice Hazelwood and husband Mike, Charlotte Smith, Helen Martin; daughter in law, Kathy Frost;14 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; one great great grandson and one great great granddaughter on the way; siblings, Joyce Dillingham, Elbert Lawson and wife Darlene; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
A viewing will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 12PM-7PM at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home, Fort Gibson, OK.
A celebration of Pauline’s life will be held 1:00PM Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the Fort Gibson Church of Christ with Pastor Kelly Payne and Pastor Roger Pratt officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Muskogee, OK with Troy Thornton, Eric Ellis, Timmy Frost, Charles Frost, Mikie Hazelwood, Robert Hazelwood and Jeff Hazelwood serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers are Richard Williams, Britney Williams, Lisa Williams and Rick Williams.
