THINGS TO DO

Marissa K. Wiseley , 62

Born Wednesday, February 11, 1959

Died Monday, January 10, 2022

Marissa Kathleen Wiseley was born February 11, 1959, in Kansas City, MO, to Clyde and Margaret Cain. She grew up in Tahlequah, OK and graduated from Tahlequah High School in 1977. She moved to Muskogee, OK after graduation and worked for CR Anthony Company from 1979 to 1981. She set her sights on a different type career, and enrolled at Draughon School of Business in Tulsa, OK graduating at the head of her class in 1983, with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. Following graduation, she started a new career with OG&E in Muskogee OK. Concurrent with her employment, she was enrolled at Connors State College and completed a second Associates Degree in Computer Science. She retired from OG&E in 2013, after 30 years of service.
In 1990, Marissa married her sweetheart and friend, Scott Wiseley, and together they raised their four boys. Marissa was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and the favorite aunt. When raising her children, she welcomed her nieces, nephews, and many of the neighborhood children into her home. Bonds were formed and memories were made. Family and neighborhood friendship ties remain to this day. She also served as the Youth Group leader at Grace Episcopal Church in the 1990s.
She was a master craftsman, who could wield power tools like a pro, and she built beautiful hand-crafted trunks for her family. She sewed like no other, and made curtains for one and all. She loved to read, cook, garden, watch movies, and go “junking.” She even dabbled in real estate. She had an open and inquiring mind and was especially intrigued by science and art.
Marissa departed this life on January 10, 2022, in Muskogee, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by two of her sisters, Lianne Cain and Michelle Kirk. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Scott Wiseley, of Woodall, OK, by her sons, Carl and wife Carrie of Hannah, OK, Robby of Welling, OK, Brett and wife Lynn of Siloam Springs, AR, James of Muskogee, OK, by her eight grandchildren, Marissa, Billy, Dakota, Dallas, Lane, Graham, Corinne, and Traye Lynn, and by her sister Jennifer and husband Paul Sparks of Fort Gibson, OK.
The family would especially like to thank Sally Mitchell, Mallory Burroughs, Kayci Waggle and Adele Burnett for their loving and compassionate care of our dearest Marissa during her time of need.
