Lottie Marie (Stiles) Jarrard, died peacefully in the arms of her daughter and son-in-law in Norman, Oklahoma on June 21, 2020.
She was born September 12, 1930 in Spiro, Oklahoma to Edmond Earl Stiles and Esther (Goff) Stiles. Lottie grew up on a farm in eastern Oklahoma with her sisters, Evelyn, Ernestine, Vernie and Ruby; along with her brother, Estel. She graduated from Stigler High School and then attended nursing school at Baptist Hospital under Director Edna Rockefeller. She loved nursing and caring for her patients. In 1988 as a nurse, she was selected as employee of the year. Lottie retired from Muskogee Regional Medical Center after 41 years of service. During these years she made many friends and coworkers who worked in various departments of the hospital. Lottie embodied the Christian virtues of love, acceptance and saw the goodness in others.
Lottie was a breast cancer survivor. She helped organize Relay for Life walks and participated with other survivors for years. She was a member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery for many years with Helen Hill and other church friends.
Lottie was married to Bill Jarrard for fifty years. She had one daughter, Patricia Tubbs. Lottie moved to Norman, Oklahoma in November of 2018 to live with Patricia and her son-in-law, Eddie Tubbs after an extended illness. She brought her precious spaniel, Susie Q, to Norman also. She often visited Norman in previous years to visit her sister, Ernestine and attend her grandson, Kelley E. Tubbs’ sporting events. Lottie loved gardening, cooking, the sport of fishing, boating and especially her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmond and Esther Stiles; sisters, Evelyn and Ernestine; brother, Estel; and husband, Bill Jarrard.
Lottie is survived by her daughter, Patricia Tubbs and husband Eddie of Norman, OK; grandson, Kelley E. Tubbs of Washington, D.C.; sisters, Ruby Cason of Ft. Gibson, OK, and Vernie Schooley of Chandler, OK; sister-in-law, Kay Jarrard of Muskogee, OK; best friend, J. Herron-Morgan of Muskogee, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank the Kindful Hospice nurses, Carrie, RN, and Carol, LPN who visited our home weekly with kindness, support and loving care.
The family will be accepting friends from 9:00AM-5:30PM, Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
A celebration of Lottie’s life will be 11AM, Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Greenhill Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Donnie Echols officiating.
