God must have looked down from Heaven and saw that Lorine’s soul was tired, then He looked at His record and saw her work was done. On October 4, 2021, He sent a Guardian Angel to carry her soul on home.

Lorine Carter Howell was born December 28, 1938 in Muskogee County to Bee and Pearl Carter who preceded her in death.

Lorine attended Wheatley Public School. She united in marriage to John Moton Howell, this union was blessed with five children. She professed hope in Christ as her savior at an early age, she united with Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She served as a Church Clerk, Sunday School Secretary, Treasurer, and Assistant Superintendent. She was an inspiration to all who knew and loved her for her zest in life and positive outlook.

Lorine is preceded in death by her sisters, Birdie Mae Liddell, Katherine Younger, and Rachel Carter, brothers, Eddie Smith, and James Carter, a daughter, Dianne Howell, sons-in-law, James Lang and Henry Wilkins.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters and one son, Constance Loraine Howell Lang of Boynton, OK, Pattie Joe Howell Wilkins of Tulsa, OK, Dinessa Howell, Broken Arrow, OK, Melvin Eugene Howell, Royse, TX, three brothers, Johnny Carter, Raymond Carter, and Edward Carter all of Detroit, MI, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

A Home Going Celebration will be conducted, Monday, October 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Mt Zion Baptist Church, Boynton, OK, with Pastor Anthony Folks, eulogizing. Interment will follow in Lee Cemetery, Boynton, OK. Visitation will be Sunday, October 10, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the Precious Memories Chapel, House of Winn Funeral Home-Muskogee.
