Born Monday, January 29, 1962
Died Sunday, December 2, 2018
On January 29th, 1962 in Haskell Oklahoma, Ernest Chaplin and Iretta Smith welcomed a beautiful baby girl and oldest daughter into the world, they decided to name her Loretta Denise Chaplin, she was affectionately known as “Niecy” to family and close friends.
Niecy accepted Christ at an early age at Jerusalem Baptist church, she was known for her beautiful voice and she loved to sing around the house and in the choir at church. She later joined Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where she was further led to Christ under the leadership of former Pastor Vanzelen Brown
Her family later moved to Muskogee Oklahoma where she attended Muskogee Public Schools in her youth where she graduated with the class of 1980, although she was never fond of attending college, she later decided to further her education in Tulsa Oklahoma at Tulsa Beauty College, she graduated in 1989 from the cosmetology program.
On August 3rd, 1980 Loretta met and married Thomas Demetrious Dooley, of this union 5 children were born, after the dissolution of this marriage she met and married Arthur Lee Crutcher in 2002 whom she remained married to until her departure from this earth.
Loretta was well known in the Muskogee community for her talent in being a great beautician, everyone that sat in her chair left with something, the main thing being a beautiful hairstyle, but she always was an open ear to her clients, she was a friend and she always gave a positive word of advice. She was the owner/operator of several salons in the Muskogee area, her most popular being Exclusively “U” salon where she maintained a large clientele and was known for cutting hair and her use of the marcel iron. She was very skilled and would spend several late nights at the salon making sure her client's needs where met.
Loretta has always possessed a giving spirit with an open-door policy, she would literally give the shirt off her back with no questions asked and you were always welcome to come stay in her home be it for 1 night or several years, she never turned anyone away. She was selfless in every aspect of the word. She maintained several special friendships with so many that it would be hard to name them all, but one of her special bonds was with her friend LaNeeta Bradley, they not only worked together but they lived together, and they had a “sister” like bond that was never broken throughout the years. She had a close bond with several others that will miss her daily “wake up call” that she was known for.
After a short illness while staying with her daughter in Broken Arrow, OK the Lord decided that her assignment here on earth was complete and early on December 2nd, 2018, she was welcomed home by her loved ones for rest.
She is welcomed in heaven by those preceded in death: her parents, William & Iretta Wilson, Ernest & Girtha Chaplin, Uncle Marlin Brown, Michael Brown and Anthony White along with her paternal and maternal grandparents and her late ex-husband Thomas.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory in God's hands: her loving husband of 16 years Arthur Crutcher, 2 brothers, Ernest Chaplin and Timothy Wilson, 3 sisters, Tamarcia (Ronnie)Woodard, Joanna (Chris) Marshall, and Aleda Chaplin, step-brothers and sisters Ray, Deadra, Brenda, Ivan and Anthony, her 5 children, Geoffrey, Demetrious (TJ), Kimberly, Christopher, & Darren and step-child, Arthur Crutcher-Hopkins, special nieces, that she treated like her daughters, Niccaro and Markita, her grandchildren, Trinitee, Tristyn, Taccara, Ky’Zen, Kevin, Destinni, Mia, Demetrious, Christopher, Jhaiesyn, Christian, Daceveon, Xion, Cherish, Kristen, Da’Niyah, Da’Ciah, Kemoni, Serenity, Journey, and Zara, aunts, Jeanetta Brown and Helen Chaplin, uncles, George (Minnie) Smith and Charles (Evelyn) Chaplin, her special friends, Zella, Angela (Von), Andrea, and Shawn, special cousins Linda, Brian and Larry along with a large host of other family, friends, clientele and loved ones.
