Linda Earline Potts, 70, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2019. She was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Earl and Mildred (Brittain) Mullinax on November 16, 1948. Following the death of her parents, she was raised by her grandparents, Walter and Myrtle Brittain. Linda attended school at Hamilton Schools in Tulsa. She later married Burley Potts on October 27, 1978 and they began their lives together in Lost City, Oklahoma where they raised two children, David and Jeanetta. Linda worked as a teacher’s aide at Lost City Public Schools and then later as a cafeteria cook. Her last job was being a cafeteria cook at Hulbert Public School.
Linda and her family attended Swimmer Baptist Church in Lost City where she loved to hear gospel music. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and loved to cook for them.
Burley passed away on December 31, 2014 and Linda longed to be with him. Her family and friends have great comfort knowing they are now together in Heaven.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mildred Mullinax; brothers, Gary, Hobart, and Raymond Mullinax; and her husband, Burley Potts.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Jeanetta Wilson and husband Scott of Muskogee; son, David Marrs of Hulbert; grandchildren, Jace, Brinley, and Colton, all of Muskogee; sister, Ruth Fielden of Hulbert; along with other family members and friends.
Funeral services celebrating Linda’s life will be 2PM, Friday, August 16, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Botts officiating. Interment will follow at Lost City Cemetery in Hulbert, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Zach Brittain, Chris Brittain, Mark Fielden, Wayne Fielden, Will Bookout, and Doug Russell.
