Larry D. Cragg, 69

Larry Douglas Cragg or Link as many of his family and friends call him was born on February 17, 1952 in Muskogee, Oklahoma to Harold Eugene Cragg and Mary Lu Ellis Cragg. He was the fourth of five children. He grew up in Muskogee and attended Sally Brown, Hyde Park and Muskogee Schools before graduating from Muskogee Central in 1970. Larry attended Connors State College for two semesters.
Larry’s first job was working for Glen Reed’s gas station. He later went on to work at Katy Railroad and then finally found his calling in 1976 when he started at the Muskogee Fire Department where he spent the next 25 years. He retired on August 1, 2001. Larry stayed busy after retirement by working several different jobs including Ken Frazier Insurance, Earl’s RV and Stewart Martin Kubota. He owned several businesses through the years including Pepper Mattress, Elite Cards and Comics and Country Classics Antiques.
Larry married the love of his life Lynn Ausmus Davis on September 16, 1994 in Eureka Springs Arkansas. They were married 27 years and were blessed with a daughter, Rachel, on June 7, 1999.
Larry made a profession of faith during VBS at Hyde Park Baptist Church when he was a child. He was active in his church, Grandview Baptist. He went with the children to camp for many years and always enjoyed giving the kids a hard time.
Larry was a 32nd degree Mason and was a member of Alpha 12 in Fort Gibson and Trinity 502 in Muskogee. He served as secretary for both lodges for many years.
Larry joined Bedouin Shrine in 1998 and was a member of the Clown Unit. He was known as “Missing Link”. He loved clowning around and having a good time. He was a member of the Bedouin Shrine Divan and served as Potentate in 2019. Larry believed in the philanthropy of the shrine, the shrine hospitals that help children with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate. He had recently taken on the duty as Hospital Chairman for Bedouin Shrine.
Larry had many hobbies. He collected baseball cards, comics and coins. He liked antiques and enjoyed going to garage sales to find treasures. He also enjoyed metal detecting, hunting and fishing. He was good at fixing things and working with wood to restore furniture .
Larry was a beloved father, brother, and son who breathed love and humor into everything he did. He knew how to light up a room whether that was cracking jokes and doing magic tricks or pestering all the cousins and grandkids. He lived his life with love and laughter, which he spread to all of those he knew.
Larry is survived by his wife Lynn of the home; mother Mary Lu Cragg of Muskogee; son Jason Cragg of Muskogee, son Aaron Cragg and wife Dawn of Muskogee; daughter Rachel Cragg of Fayetteville, AR; step-son Nathan Davis and wife Meagan, step-son Jon Davis and wife Angel of Muskogee; sister Linda Roberson of Tomball, TX; brother Richard Cragg of Muskogee, brother Terry Cragg of Joplin, MO; grandchildren Madison Cragg of Muskogee, Kaden Cragg and Acelan Cragg of Eufaula, Ryder Cragg, Jessica and Jordan of Muskogee, Reid Davis, Tucker Davis and Kade Davis of Muskogee; and great-grandchild Chandler Moore of Muskogee; as well as many other close family members.
He was preceded in death by his son Larry Michael, father Gene, brother Jim and brother-in-law Tom Roberson.
There will be visitation for family and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 on Monday, December 6th at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
Larry’s celebration of life will be 10AM, Tuesday, December 7th, 2021 at Grandview Baptist Church with Brother Danny Mills presiding. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with Jason Cragg, Aaron Cragg, Nathan Davis, Jon Davis, Tony Delmedico and Gary Page serving as pallbearers.
