U.S. VeteranMr. Lansing E. Lee, after 65 seasons of life, "was scripted in Poetry from Heaven" on Sunday morning, September 9, 2018 from his home in Muskogee.

Lansing Eugene Lee was born on January 15, 1953, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary E. Wright and Woodrow Lee, sisters, Debra Wright and Jewell Johnson, and brothers, Floyd Wright and Frank Lee.

Lansing attended Douglass Elementary School, Sadler Junior High and Manual Training High School in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where he excelled in English, drama and debate. He graduated at the top of his class at Muskogee High School as senior class president in 1971. He attended Langston University, where he also excelled academically. Lansing became a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., while at Langston and forged many life-long relationships within the brotherhood of Alpha. Upon earning his bachelor’s in English Education, Lansing began working in the public school system as an English teacher in the town of Boley, Oklahoma. Lansing also received his Master’s degree in Education Administration at Oklahoma State University in 1977.

Lansing served in the United States Army from 1985–2001, where he served in Operation Desert Storm as a Personnel Management Sergeant and as the Unit Administrator for the 827th Quarter Master Company in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Lansing accepted Christ at the age of 10 and was baptized at Rayfield Baptist Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was a member of the youth choir and an active participant in numerous church plays.

He leaves to cherish his memories, wife, Kathy Lee; a sister, Marcella Reed; daughters, LaVerne Lee Parchman, LaVonne Lee Duncan, Quenitia Walker and Lanastacia Lee; stepdaughter, Ashley Rooks; sons, Lamar Lee, Lamont Lee, and Damian Sammons; stepsons, Chantwuan Reed, Marsalis Reed, and Quinton Graham; brothers-in-law, Kevin Graham and Samuel Brown; along with 18 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The Celebratory Service for Brother Lee will commence on Saturday morning, September 15, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the most Holy sanctuary of The Antioch Church, 500 West Broadway Avenue.  Dr. Brother Marlon J. Coleman is the gracious host, Pastor Brother Stephen Wiley, Officiating and Pastor Aundrea Jones, Eulogist.

You may visit Brother Lee, as he slumbers in peaceful repose on Friday from 3 PM until 6 PM at The Antioch Church.  Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., will conduct their Memorial Omega Service Ritual beginning at 6:06 PM at The Antioch Church.  The public is welcome to attend.

The Christian Committal for Brother Lansing Lee will be on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.
