Obituary

In the year of 1935, God blessed Charlie Grant Jr. and Savannah (Scroggins) Grant with a beautiful baby girl on October 22. This beauty was named Juanita Grant. She was the third born child from this loving union and arrived in Helenbelle, Oklahoma.

Juanita grew up in Okmulgee where she attended school in the Okmulgee School District area. She accepted Christ into her life at an early age. She began her faithful service at New Salem Baptist Church then relocated to New Jerusalem Baptist Church where she continued The Lord’s work until her assignment was complete.

In October of 1952, she married Carmon Wilson and was blessed with seven children: Linda, Leatrice, Carmon Jr. (Dent), Arlene, Victor, Terry, and Lavida.

Juanita was an employee of Okmulgee Public Schools for 31 years, where she was a dedicated worker until retirement.

Early Thursday morning, March 19, 2020, Juanita Wilson, in her 84th year, transitioned from LABOR to REWARD surrounded by family, engulfed in love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, five brothers, one grandson, one great granddaughter, two great grandsons, one great-great granddaughter, and one great-great grandson.

Juanita leaves in God’s care her husband, Carmon Wilson Sr., of the home; children: Linda Payne, Leatrice (Gay) Talton, Carmon Jr. (Gloria) Wilson, Arlene Wilson, Victor Sr. (Rayneka) Wilson, Terry Talton, and Lavida Jones; one sister, Charlesetta Mahone; one brother, Chester (Joyce) Grant; 32 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; as well as an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

TO KNOW HER WAS TO LOVE HER!
