Josie Francine Sutton, 57, of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, April 29th, 2022. She was born on July 28th,1964 to Johnny L. Holsey and Adalene Edwards Lamb in Phoenix, AZ. She attended school at Edmond and Muskogee School systems. She completed her GED in 1983 and took classes at Connors State College. Josie attended Christian Chapel Church of Muskogee along with other churches in the Muskogee area.
She married Michael Scott Goff on July 29th ,2016 in Eureka Springs, AR. They shared nearly 6 years of marriage and memories together.
Josie enjoyed the outdoors and camping. She loved her family and cherished her friends. She was a free spirit that enjoyed life at the spur of the moment. She was always a caregiver who put the needs of others before her own. She would always help coworkers in need. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to her elderly customers by doing their laundry, cleaning their house, delivering their groceries, or even giving them a bed to sleep in. One of Josie’s most enjoyable activities was being able to provide daycare for her great niece, Laraina.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Holsey and Adalene Lamb; grandparents, Thetis Edwards and Evelyn Bryant, and Thomas E. Holsey and Josie Watts; and numerous aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her husband, Michael S. Goff of Fort Gibson, OK; stepmother, Cheryl Holsey of Lufkin, TX; sister, Susan Rogers and husband Larry of Fort Gibson, OK; brother, Wayde Holsey and wife Kathy of Muskogee, OK; daughter, Amber Conner and husband Clay of Oklahoma City, OK; son, Eston Sutton and wife Miah of San Antonio, TX; granddaughters, Olivia Danielle Connor, Makalynne Logan, and Adelaide Sellers; uncles, Eddie Holsey and wife Carolyn, and Terry Edwards; aunt, Tammie Edwards; nieces, Alissa Williams and Jennifer Holsey; nephews, Levi Williams and Jesse Holsey; many great nieces, great nephews, and cousins; 1 great-great niece; and 1 great-great nephew.
A celebration of life for Josie Sutton will be 2PM, Friday, May 6th, 2022 at St. Basil’s Episcopal Church in Tahlequah, Oklahoma with Father Larry Rogers officiating.
