Johnny Herbert Hoover, 90

Died Monday, April 8, 2019

Johnny Herbert “John” Hoover, 90, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019. He was born on April 3, 1929 to Jess Sovier Hoover and Dorothy Ann (Plummer) Hoover in Junction, Texas. John served in the United States Army during the Korean War and received an honorable discharge.
He married Georgia Fay VanZant, on August 21, 2003 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. John adored Georgia and loved spending as much time as possible with her and his family.
John worked for Goodyear Tires as a test driver for many years. He was also the Owner of Marathon Motel. John was a hunting guide for a South Texas Ranch. He loved going hunting and fishing. John loved his family very much and will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Dorothy Hoover; brothers Henry Hoover, George Hoover, and Lee Hoover; sisters, Ruth and Arlene.
John is survived by his loving wife, Georgia Hoover of the home; daughter Debbie Shelton and husband Dub of Gallatin, TN; sister, Lillian Pape of Stockdale, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews who all adored him.
A celebration of John’s life will be 1PM, Monday, April 15, 2019 at Haskell City Cemetery with Pastor Billy Parker officiating.
