Johnnie Geraldine Ashwood, 82

Born Sunday, September 25, 1938

Died Wednesday, November 11, 2020

Johnnie Geraldine Ashwood, 82, a lifetime resident of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 with her family at her side. She was born September 25, 1938 in Muskogee to John Seth Webster and Nola (Weir) Webster.
She married the love of her life and best friend, Daniel Lee Ashwood Sr. on December 29, 1956 in Muskogee. They shared 63 years, 10 months, and 13 days of life, marriage, and memories.
Johnnie was Nanny to more than just her own grandchildren. She began babysitting in 1970 and kept children until she retired in 2016 due to her health issues. In those 46 years, the number of children she kept was up into the hundreds. She will always be remembered as a wonderful Christian lady who loved and nurtured many children in the Muskogee area. She was a faithful and active member of Covenant Baptist Church in Broken Arrow.
Johnnie was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nola Webster; her siblings, Juanita Montgomery, Carl Webster, James Webster, George Webster, and Vivian Goddard.
Johnnie is survived by her beloved husband, Daniel of the home; children, Daniel Ashwood Jr, Carole Sloan, Victor Ashwood, and Rebecca Brock; brother, Jerry Webster; along with other family members and friends.
Funeral services celebrating Johnnie’s life will be Monday, November 16, 2020 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. John Ashwood and Pastor Daniel Chamberlain officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery with John Ashwood, Jerry Webster, Joseph Ashwood, John Dodgen, James Ashwood, and Larry Casey serving as pallbearers.
