John B. Bebee, 89

Died Wednesday, July 1, 2020

John Brown Bebee, 89, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 surrounded by his family. John was born at home at Oktaha on April 25, 1931 weighing 13lbs. He lived in the Oktaha and Muskogee area all of his life. John married the love of his life, Barbara Jean Lashley, in 1978 in Muskogee. They shared many happy memories together.
John was a dairy farmer for years and managed Hilltop Arena where he produced rodeos. He was then self-employed as a horse trader for the remainder of his life. He also bought and sold lawn mowers with his son, Johnny.
John was a great dad. He made life fun and never missed one of his children’s basketball games. He was always positive about life. He affected everyone he came in contact with in a positive way. John was a greeter at Chandler Road Church of Christ. The church had a prison ministry which he helped with. He absolutely loved those guys and did all he could to encourage them. John worked tirelessly bringing food to the church to help people who needed it. He visited nursing homes up until he couldn’t walk anymore. John was loved and will be greatly missed by his wife, Barbara, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Ethel Bebee; sisters, Margaret Neil, Billie Ricketts, and Mary Synar; brothers, Bud Bebee and Tom Bebee; sister-in-law, Dauna Bebee.
John is survived by his loving wife, Barbara of the home; children, Vicki Spencer of Muskogee, Teresa Ford and husband Larry of Muskogee, Johnny Bebee of Muskogee, Susan Applegate and husband Billy of Muskogee; step-sons, Mickey Lashley of Ft. Gibson, Larry Lashley of Minnesota, Kenny Lashley and wife Mona of Ft. Gibson, Chris Lashley of Longview, TX, and Jeff Lashley of Muskogee; grandchildren, Davey Trammell of Springfield, MO, Jimmy Trammell of Muskogee, Julie Baker and husband Jeff of Tahlequah, Becky Dunlap of Muskogee, T.C. Phillips of Kansas, Michael Phillips of Ohio, and Bobby Phillips of Okay; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of John’s life will be 2PM, Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Chandler Road Church of Christ with Minister Vance Davis officiating.
