Joan Thompson, 83, of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away Friday, March 15, 2019. She was born December 8, 1935 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to Earl D. Goad and Anna Mae (Gipson) Goad. Joan attended Sallisaw Public Schools.
She worked as a certified medication aide for many years.
Joan enjoyed spending time outdoors taking care of her garden, cooking, ironing, and reading, especially her Bible.
She married Willard Thompson and they shared many years of life and marriage together.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willard Thompson; her siblings, Carolyn, Emma, Barbara, and Doyle; her sons-in-law, Phil York and Richard Easley.
Joan is survived by her daugthers, Carol “Baby” Easley, Elizabeth Wiedel, and Sandy York, all of Muskogee, Nancy Harris and husband Jerry of Fort Gibson; grandchildren, Shawana Brown, Shawn Threet, Janie Mitchell; her very special granddaughter, Stacey Winter and husband Greg of Muskogee; great- grandchildren, Jacob Tyler Orman, Kaleb Mitchell, Montana Mitchell, Stormy Threet, and Ben Winter (MoMo’s precious boy); siblings, Phyllis McBride of Muskogee, Kaye Andrews of Tulsa, Jan Kellogg and husband Lonnie of Muskogee, James Goad of Poteau, Chuck Goad and wife Linda of Sallisaw; along with other family members and friends.
A memorial service celebrating Joan’s life will be 2PM, Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Alan McBroom officiating.
