Jimmy Bryan Owens, 64, of Fort Gibson, OK was born March 9, 1957 in Phoenix, AZ to James and Betty (Warren) Owens and peacefully passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at his home with his loving family by his side. Jimmy lived in Coolidge, AZ until he was 20 years old. He moved to Muskogee, OK and resided there for the next 23 years. Jimmy met and later married the love of his life, Susan Bruner, on April 14, 1988 in Muskogee. He and Susan made Fort Gibson their home where they raised two boys. Jimmy’s career started as a Routeman for Advanced Linen, Route Supervisor, Regional Service Manager, General Manager for Superior Linen Muskogee plant, and also served as the Director of Business Development. Jimmy retired in 2019 after 36 years of service. Jimmy was passionate about the game of golf, and Oklahoma Sooners football. Jimmy’s life centered around family, golf and his lawn. His yard was his sanctuary, always perfect, rivaling Augusta National Golf Club. He instilled the love of golf in his sons, Taylor and Tanner, who have achieved great things from their father’s lessons. Perfection is something he strived for in every facet of his life. He leaves a legacy of love, devotion, and competitiveness that will live on through his family. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; and favorite mother-in-law, Emily Bruner. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 32 years, Susan of the home; sons, Taylor and Tanner Owens both of Tulsa, OK; sisters, Kena Manfredi and husband Carmine of Chandler, AZ and Debi Michaels and husband Rod of Gilbert, AZ; brothers, Greg Joyce and wife Nancy of Apache Junction, AZ and Ricky Owens of Elloy, AZ; father-in-law, Jim Bruner of Sedan, KS; brothers-in-law, Brad Bruner of Wichita, KS and Greg Bruner and wife Carolyn of Topeka, KS; nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. A memorial service celebrating Jimmy’s life will be held 11AM Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Fort Gibson First Baptist Church with Pastor Jared Callahan officiating. Honorary urn bearers are Taylor Owens, Tanner Owens, Don Abdallah, Gale Brauchie, Rodney Callahan, Gary Johnson, Don Jones, Dino Keyes, Mike Rowe, Brad Bruner, and Greg Bruner.
