Jewell Irene (Epps) Lashley, 98, passed away on July 3, 2021 in Muskogee, OK. Jewell was born on December 16, 1922 to Cleveland Fountain Epps and Lue Ella Hicks in Heavener, OK.
At the age of 4 Jewell became a lifelong resident of Muskogee, OK. She attended Muskogee Public Schools. After graduation she attended Draughn’s Business School. She worked as an administrative assistant during World War 2 at Davis Field Air Base. She went on to work for the VA Hospital for over 30 years of service.
She married Norris S. Lashley on June 11, 1948 in Haskell, OK and shared 44 years together before Norris’s death in 1992.
Jewell was an active member of the Eastside Church of Christ.
Jewell enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, bowling and traveling with her family. She very much enjoyed talking and laughing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, G.C Pack; husband, Norris Lashley, 2 sisters, 1 brother and 3 stepbrothers.
She is survived by 3 children, Pat English and husband Jack of Fayetteville, AR, Bob Lashley and wife Judi of Edmond, OK, Steve Lashley and wife Kay of Seminole, OK; 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a large number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Jack English officiating. Pallbearers will be Andy Lashley, Jay Lashley, Todd Holland, Chris Young, Lucas Ross and Jeremiah McDaniel. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dylan Holland, Steven Holland, Braden Young, Bode Lashley, Henson Ross and Simon Ross.
