Jean Helen Kelly, 87, went to her heavenly home on Monday, June 7, 2021. She was born on September 7, 1933 to Matthew Robertson and Helen (Gregg) Robertson in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Jean graduated from Pawhuska High School and continued her education at Northeastern State University where she received her A.D. in Nusing with honors. She furthered her education and earned a B.A. in Psychology and a M.S. in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern State University.
Jean worked for a short time as an R.N. at the Muskogee General Hospital and the Veterans’ Administration Hospital in Muskogee. She went on to pursue her career as a counselling psychologist with Exceptional Children Services from 1980 to 1982. Additionally, Jean volunteered as a counselor, where she worked with hospice nurses.
Jean married the love of her life, Michael E Kelly, on May 11, 1972 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They shared many years of marriage, life, family and loving memories together.
Jean is remembered as a loving mother, devoted wife, adoring and fun grandmother. She and Mike loved traveling and traveled the world. Jean enjoyed camping and the great outdoors. She had an appreciation for theater and the arts. Jean was a master gardener and an avid walker. Jean was strong in her Christian faith, and lived it out daily. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Michael E. Kelly.
She is survived by her four children, Frank Pangburn, John Pangburn, Virginia Qualiardi and Shannon Purnell; her 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Jean’s family would like to thank the kind staff at Aberdeen Heights in Tulsa, Oklahoma for their compassionate love and care.
A celebration of Jean’s life will be at 2PM, Friday, June 11, 2021 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel with Frank and Anita Pangburn officiating.
