Jasper David “Chuck” Jordan, 92

Born Monday, May 28, 1928

Died Sunday, January 17, 2021

Jasper David “Chuck” Jordan was born on May 28, 1928 in Porum, Oklahoma to Arlie K. Jordan (Hamilton) and Jonathon David Jordan. He was the sixth of nine children born to this union. Early in his life, his father named him “Chucklehead” because he laughed all the time. It stuck with him throughout his life.
Chuck attended schools at Fairview School near Porum, Oklahoma until he was in junior high at which time he and his family moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma. After high school, he started “working on the railroad” for Midland Valley Railroad where he worked as a freight train car inspector. He worked for the same company for 42 years even though they changed names a couple of times, Missouri Pacific and Union Pacific.
Chuck married Juanita Brooks on September 3, 1949 and to this union three daughters were born, Sandra Kay, Suzanne, and Janice Lee. He was always so proud of his wife and daughters. He always called them his “Charlie’s Angels”. In 1957, they moved to the country near Keefeton where he bought a little farm. He raised cattle and had a few horses and chickens.
Chuck and his family joined Buckhorn Baptist Church at McLain in 1958 where he rarely missed a service. In 1968, they became members of Trinity Baptist Church where he was a faithful member until his passing.
His family was his pride and joy and they never doubted his love for them.
After retirement, Chuck decided to have some fun and boy did he! He and Juanita took up square dancing, bowling, and trail riding. They made many wonderful friends thru these activities.
Chuck worked hard, played hard, and loved hard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Joe, Mildred, Margaret, Muriel, and Ruth; and grandson, Ryan Miller.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Juanita, of the home; children, Sandra Miller (Johnny), Suzanne Henry (Rick), and Janice Hughes (Billy); grandchildren, Justin Miller, Nicole Howard (Jason), Brandi Reid (Justin); great-grandchildren, Ariel Essley, Keigan Reid, Rigby Reid, Rollins Howard, Creedence Leaf Miller, Abbie Miller, Cody Hughes, and Rowdy Back; great-great-granddaughter, Ella May Rose Miller; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
The family would like to express a very special “Thank You” to special friends and caregivers, Mary Bibb Barrett, Cosette Lewis, and Megan Ballard as well as the entire staff of Hometown Hospice.
The family will receive friends from 6-8PM, Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
Funeral services celebrating Chuck’s life will be 2PM, Friday, January 22, 2021 at Keefeton Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Cardell Coppin and Pastor Dean Haley officiating.
