On Monday, August 26th 2019, James Lynn Burleson, loving husband; father of three and grandfather of two passed away at the age of 67.
Lynn was born on August 1st, 1952 in Henryetta, OK to James and Maxine (Hill) Burleson. He graduated Dustin High School and attended Okmulgee Technical school where he trained to be an electrician.
He married Carol Ann Stith on July 2, 1980 at the Gospel Rescue Mission in Muskogee, OK.
They raised two daughters, Amanda (Burleson) Guthrie and Melissa (Burleson) Gray, and one son, James Lynn Beau Burleson. They also enjoyed two grandchildren, Alexander Guthrie and Ava Rowan Gray.
He had a passion for tinkering and creating. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do, as long as his mind was set on it. He made beautiful handmade knives, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and scuba diving. He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying fixed-wing aircraft as well as powered parachutes. He instilled his love for creating and exploring in his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many family friends.
Lynn was preceded in death by his Father, James Tennyson Burleson, and his mother Billie Maxine Burleson. He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Burleson, sister Sharon Eva Angle and husband Butch Angle, three children, two grandchildren, many nieces nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 29th at Cornerstone Funeral Home and Crematory in Muskogee, OK at two o’clock p.m.
