James Cleon “Peck” Mosteller, Sr., 80, of Haskell, Oklahoma went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. He was born on August 6, 1941 in Haskell, Oklahoma to Charles Clayton Mosteller and Ruth Jewel (Keaton) Mosteller. Cleon enlisted in the Army National Guard on June 22, 1959. He attended boot camp and many summer and weekend camps, many of which were at Camp Gruber in Braggs, Oklahoma. He retired from the Army National Guard on January 23, 1988 as a SSG (E6).
Cleon married the love of his life, Sarah Charlene Ashing, on August 17, 1979 in Sebastian, Arkansas. They shared just shy of 43 years of life, marriage, family and love together.
Cleon worked as a HVAC Journeyman for Underwood Engineering, Hogle, John Zink Company from 1962-1988 and was also self-employed. He retired from the HVAC field after 36 years in 1998. Cleon loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Ruth Mosteller; his loving wife, Sarah Charlene Mosteller; his brother, Raymond Mosteller; and his uncle, Don Keaton whom he cared for up until the pandemic and loved like a father and he loved him like a son.
Cleon is survived by his children, Cindy Little of Haskell, OK, Brenda Bolding and husband Beaver of Haskell, OK, James Mosteller and wife Kristi of Haskell, OK, Juliana Utley and husband Gary of Stillwater, OK and Brenda Qualls and husband Kevin of Haskell, OK; his grandchildren, Jason Utley, Mark Qualls, Kristina Higgins, Ashley Hoffman, Michael Bolding and Makenzie Bolding; his great-grandchildren, Kitelyn, Peyton, Hunter, Blakely, Sariah, Ousten, Lacey, Andi, Allison, Stetler and Clara; and many other family members and friends.
His family will greet friends 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., Friday, July 29, 2022 at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
A celebration of Cleon’s life will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Haskell First Baptist Church with Pastor Gary McKeen and grandson, Mark Qualls officiating. Interment will follow at Haskell Cemetery with Beaver Bolding, Michael Bolding, Kevin Qualls, Mark Qualls, Gary Utley and Jason Utley serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be James Mosteller II, Tony Rombach, Warren Higginbotham, Doug Fultz, David Fultz, Glen Mosteller, Ted Mosteller and Terry Mosteller.
