Hoyt Ray Disney, 80, of Fort Gibson, was born June 20, 1939 in Canadian, OK to Durwood and Ruby (Lemons) Disney and peacefully passed away Monday, January 13, 2020 in Fort Gibson, with his loving family by his side. When Hoyt was 2 ½ years old his father passed away. Ruby later married Chalk Benson and they moved to Muskogee, where he finished his education. Hoyt served in the United States Army, serving his country in Germany and was honorably discharged. Hoyt came back to Muskogee, met, fell in love with and later married the love of his life, Billie Arlene Harris. The day they met, Hoyt knew he would marry her. They married on August 8, 1963 in Fort Gibson, OK. They were blessed with 2 daughters, Nancy and Bonnie. When Nancy was 1 year old, they moved to Greenleaf State Park where Hoyt worked as a Park Ranger. Later, moving to Fort Gibson where they made their home. Hoyt worked for the City of Fort Gibson for several years. Later he went to work for John Monks, owner of Thunderbird Chemicals, whom became a great friend and hunting partner. After John’s passing, he went to work for Gene Wallace at Muskogee County District #1 where he remained until his retirement. Hoyt and Billie loved going to Gospel Concerts together and went to as many as they could. They did everything together. They were each other’s best friends. They would drive down the road always holding hands. When Billie passed away on March 3, 2019 Hoyt’s life wasn’t the same. From the day of Billie’s passing, he waited to meet her in Heaven. Hoyt is lovingly survived by his daughters; Nancy Winn and husband Tom of Muskogee, OK, and Bonnie Coy and husband Brad of Fort Gibson, OK; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister; several sister in laws and brother in laws; and a special adopted granddaughter, Paula Ascencio. She was Hoyt’s provider and quickly became family. He was preceded in death by his sweetheart of 56 years; Billie Disney; his parents; his mother in law and father in law; five brother in laws; one sister and one brother; and step dad, Chalk Benson. A memorial service Celebrating Hoyt’s life will be held 2PM Friday, January 17, 2020 at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Gibson, OK with Reverend Clyde Powell and Mr. Bob Burgess officiating.
