Hazel Marie Gibson, 83

Born Sunday, February 2, 1936

Died Tuesday, July 9, 2019

Hazel Marie Gibson, 83, of Fort Gibson was born February 2, 1936 in Porum, OK to James and Effie (Potter) Murray and passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019 in Fort Gibson, OK with her loving family by her side.
Hazel was very proud of her missionary work and being an ordain minister with International Pentecostal Holiness. She was a very selfless person who enjoyed reading her bible, creating beautiful nativity scenes in ceramics, gardening, canning, all types of flowers, fishing and anything outdoors. Hazel was a licensed care giver, not only to people in need but to all types of animals. Numerous stray dogs became a part of the family. She was a wonderful cook and was especially famous for her fish fry get togethers. Hazel was a faithful member of New Life Center and was President of the Women’s Auxiliary and a long-time member at Bethel Temple. Her love for her Savior and family was evident in everything she did. Her legacy of love and devotion will live on through her family.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harding Murray, Dale Murray, Will Murray, James (Snook) Murray and Little James Murray; sisters Mable (Hughes) Murray and Mildred (Hughes) Murray.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, James Roberts and wife Chris; sister, Betty Culver; grandchildren, Sarah McWilliams and husband Phil, Pete Roberts and wife Lindsey and Katie Lawson and husband Tracy; great grandchildren; Isaac, Jaden and Isabella McWilliams; Daniel and Anna Roberts and Port Lawson. A bonus daughter Sue Kucik and husband Joe; many nieces, nephews, cousins and those we all embrace as family. Many others who called her Nanny and a host of friends.
A visitation will be held Sunday, July 14, 2019 with family receiving friends from 2PM-4PM at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Gibson. Services will be 11AM Monday, July 15, 2019 at New Hope Church in Muskogee with Reverend Frank Treseder officiating.
Committal prayers and interment will follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery, with Pete Robert, Michael Culver, David Treseder, Jon Treseder, Jaden McWilliams and Isaac McWilliams serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Port Lawson, Daniel Roberts and Joe Treseder.
